Ephesians 4:14-16

Then we will no longer be immature like children.

We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching.

We will not be influenced when people try to trick us

With lies so clever they sound like the truth.

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ,

Who is the head of his body, the church.

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly.

As each part does its own special work,

It helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

One of the major revelations of Easter is Christ's instruction that we are all members of the same body.  Jesus leads this whole body and we are to follow.  Any teaching that we hear to the contrary should simply be dismissed as a lie.  That all seems pretty simple.  So why do we get so confused?  Satan constantly tries to trick us.  For this reason, it absolutely necessary that we accept Christ in this special way, it works brilliantly!  Our church is a living example.  We have lots of people actively engaged in serving Christ, in different ways, every day.  As long as we allow each person to answer to God and serve Him, everything works for His good.  It is when we compare, or covet, then everything falls apart.  We often joke around here about cleaning bathrooms and taking out the trash.  It may come as a surprise to you that there is not a line of people who want these jobs!  Yet, our Worship Arts Theater would cease to be a place any one wanted to come to without these tasks being faithfully accomplished.  They are not glamorous.  They are often not even noticed.  Where Christians get in trouble is wanting to do someone's job that they view as "glamorous."  We don't want to work together and in one accord.  We want to be "the one" and that is not how Christ describes His church.  Our Scripture today tells us that we are many parts that fit together perfectly for the good of the body.  The next time we decide to be "the one," let's remember that it is a blessing for all to serve.  When this happens, "The Body is Healthy, Growing and Full of Love!"
