Isaiah 9:6

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

As we close our nine-part devotion series entitled, "Taxes, Travel, and Temptations!" we turn again to the prophet Isaiah for the best announcement of all.  Today is Christmas.  All the preparation is completed, and the event we have all been waiting for, has happened.  Unfortunately in today's world, Christmas preparations have been happening since September.  Of course, Jesus is never mentioned!  The shopping forecasts were all made, and were once again not met.  The world will never learn.  Jesus truly is the reason for the season.  The Scripture says it all.  Our Savior is born today.  All promises and prophecies have come true.  The shepherds have arrived at the manger and have confirmed the angels' proclamation.  Mary and Joseph have heard and obeyed the angelic call.  Today is born in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.  We've declared our presence and been taxed.  We have traveled to the manger and resisted the temptation to stay home.  Now only one thing remains which we will discuss together for the next twelve days.  Look deep into the manger and the eyes of Jesus.  Determine what you see.  Then decide, "Where Will I Go Next?"
