Exodus 15:10-12

But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them.
They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

“Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness,
Awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?
You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies.

In part one of our six-part devotion entitled, "Wonders in Wonderland!" we listen to Moses as he exclaims the wonder of our Lord.  As most of you know, we are producing our first Children's Theater musical this week which is "Alice in Wonderland, Jr."  Alice travels to "wonderland" and is never sure what is real and what is not.  She encounters many strange and different animals and people.  Alice's curiosity sometimes gets her into big trouble.  When she leaps before she looks, her life circumstances change drastically.  Before going to "wonderland," Alice fails to see the wonders that were in front of her before her journey.  Today's Scripture points out the same lack of understanding on the part of the Israelites before they left Egypt.  God had come to Moses and instructed him to lead His people out of Egypt.  This was no small task, and at first, Moses simply did not believe that he could accomplish the tasks set before him.  God had to produce a burning bush and a rod, that became a serpent, to make His point!   As Moses began to embrace the task that God had given him, the wonders of God began to become clear.  We overlook so many of God's wonders every day.  For instance, when was the last time you thanked God for a beating heart and breathing lungs?  Both of these are miraculous wonders that we don't have to travel to a far-off land to experience.  While the missionary pictures of new souls being added to Christ's church in third-world countries are great, they pale in the sight of a single beating heart.  Notice how our Scripture concludes.  It is not until after God destroys the Egyptians, in front of the faces of the Jews, were they able to comprehend the wonder that God had done.  Thank God before the wonders are completely evident.  Stay out of the rabbit hole.  The wonders are not in "wonderland."   They are "Right Here, Right Now!"
