Acts 19:10-12

This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia—

Both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord.

God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles.

When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin

Were placed on sick people,

They were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.

In part nine of our twelve-part devotion series entitled, "The Age of Miracles!" Luke reminds us of the power God gave His servant Paul.  This particular Scripture is so important to those of us who simply want to serve God and find ourselves with lots of guilt about our pasts.  When Scripture tells us that we have all fallen short of the glory of God, that is exactly what was meant.  We have all made poor decisions and judgments.  We have all strolled down the path of destruction at some point.  We must understand that we are always able to repent and return.  No greater example of this exists in Scripture than God's servant Paul.  Even after numerous Christian murders, God changes Saul's name to Paul and gives Him divine power to heal in the name of Jesus.  To most of us, this mere fact seems almost unbelievable.  I believe for this very reason this Scripture is contained for us in the Bible.  We get to see the full measure of God's grace and mercy.  For all of us that believe we are simply "too far gone," God taps us on the shoulder and confirms that this is never the case.  Don't believe the world.  Believe God.  If we continue to wallow in the past and the mire of our bad choices, we will never be able to fulfill God's blessing on our lives.  We must ask this question in our lives today.  "Are We Missing God's Anointing in the Present Because of the Past?"
