Colossians 1:28-29

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone

With all the wisdom God has given us.

We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.

That’s why I work and struggle so hard,

Depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

The apostle Paul has amazing wisdom!  I am quite sure he doesn't need my endorsement, but there it is anyway!!!  Every pastor and every Christian should re-read this passage of Scripture every day.  The Colossians were not any more or less holy than all of us.  If we have a heart for Jesus, we want to tell everyone about it.  We want to do what Matthew 28 calls us to do.  We want to go into all the world, teaching and baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  God has truly given us that wisdom.  We want everyone to have a perfect relationship with Jesus Christ.  Be careful, I did not say we want everyone to be perfect.  For those of you who personally know me, the last statement sums up my work at By Your Side Ministries.  I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ's power that will work through me.  Today, I want to encourage all of us, including me.  Notice that Paul says that he "struggles so hard."  Struggle is the key word.  We cannot represent Christ in this world of hate, lies, and violence without it being a massive struggle.  Sometimes it wears on us.  Sometimes we get weary.  I am telling me and all of you to not give up.  God is in control, even when it doesn't look like it.  If we are looking around and all seems lost, it isn't and God is about to provide another miracle and revelation.  Let's not miss it by throwing in the towel.  Satan tempted Christ THREE times, not once.  What would have happened if Christ would have given in the first or second time?  Our hope would be gone and death would be permanent.  No matter how much negative talk we hear, how many people lie to us, or how many people make fun of who we are, our quest to tell everyone about Jesus is worth it.  Living our faith is really hard, but ultimately nothing else matters.  Listen to Paul.  He is speaking to all of us today.  "Keep Struggling and Don't Ever Give Up!"
