Google+ 05/03/14 God's Grace Has Been Revealed to Each of Us!

Titus 2:11-14

For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures.

We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,

While we look forward with hope to that wonderful day

When the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us,

And to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

The Bible truly is amazing!  How can something that was written so long ago be so pertinent to our modern-day lives?  I wonder if we truly believe that the grace of God has been revealed.  Do we truly embrace what Christ did on the cross, or is it just another wonderful Bible story to tell in church or at bedtime? Today's Scripture lays out this revelation and deals with a subject that I am often quizzed about by my Family of God.  How do we live in this world and still be a Christian?  Paul gives us a genuine and "to-the-point" road map, right here in this little book of Titus.  First, we are told to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures.  Isn't that all the fun stuff and why people avoid God, churches, and pastors?  No, that is all the stuff that will destroy us without us even noticing, until it is too late.  Paul calls this world evil.  It is and, all too often, we don't admit that fact to ourselves and others.  The human race, under the "leadership" of Adam and Eve, turned their backs on God.  We were expelled from Eden and live in a world ruled by Satan.  We must use much wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God to get through each day in a Godly fashion.  It is the essence of why Jesus died on the cross for us.  He gave His life so that ours could continue.  We must be committed to doing good deeds daily.  We are cleansed, so let's act like it!  We should remember that old camp song, "They will know we are Christians by our love!"  Flee from ungodly behavior and listen to the Holy Spirit for advice.  The Triune God is always there to guide us.  Let's fully embrace what Paul has told us.  "God's Grace Has Been Revealed to Each of Us!"
