2 Corinthians 3:16-18

But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord.

And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him

As we are changed into his glorious image.

As we approach Memorial Day weekend, this will be part one of a four-part devotion series entitled, "Freedom Isn't Free!"  We are One Nation under God, regardless of what any political group says against this fact.  Today, Paul describes what freedom really means and who delivers it!  Paul proclaims that wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  We are so confused in this country about why the United States of America exists.  Our forefathers wanted Godly freedom.  It is why they left England.  Americans rebelled against the king of England and his church.  That's why we left.  That's why we fought.  That's why many have died.  Our freedom is not to be political freedom.  We spend more time litigating the use of the Ten Commandants in public buildings than we do reading and obeying them.  Besides that, I would think we would like everyone to know that killing another human being for our own gain is wrong!   Paul concludes by explaining that it is this Spirit of Freedom, through God, that changes us and makes us more like Him.  Don't we all want that?  We need to be very careful in our desire to be "politically correct."  Every time we accept someone else's "religion," that is not Christ-centered, we deny our own God and heritage.  In this case, being "politically correct" makes us Biblically incorrect.  Never make the mistake that we are "judging" people because we share God's truth.  We are not.  In Matthew 28, God demanded that we go into all the world, teaching His commandments and baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  How can we teach His commandments if we are not even allowed to post them?  Part of Memorial Day for me is celebrating those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for God's freedom.  If they were willing to give up their lives, we should be willing to be "politically incorrect" to be obedient to God.  Let's honor all of our first responders and military this weekend by proclaiming God's truth.  "We Must Be One Nation Under God!"
