Psalm 104:6-12

You clothed the earth with floods of water, water that covered even the mountains.
At your command, the water fled; at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.
Mountains rose and valleys sank to the levels you decreed.
Then you set a firm boundary for the seas, so they would never again cover the earth.

You make springs pour water into the ravines, so streams gush down from the mountains.
They provide water for all the animals, and the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
The birds nest beside the streams and sing among the branches of the trees.

In part seventeen of our eighteen-part devotion series entitled, "Water, Water, Everywhere!" we turn to King David for the ultimate praise to God.  Not surprisingly, much of our Scripture today has to do with water!  David goes back to the beginning in praising God.  So should we, as often we forget the miracles of creation.  God created the firmament that divided the seas.  It is the land where we live here on earth.  It is fruitful and provides our daily bread.  As the mountains rose, valleys were created.  They were filled with fresh water from springs, the sustenance of all living things.  The word picture that David paints is breath-taking.  There is a reason for that.  The truth is, God is awesome in all He does and we take so much of it for granted.  Today I find myself 1500 miles from my Florida home, in the plains of Oklahoma.  A miracle was performed by God to just get me here.  The land and the culture is very different.  It is our human nature to determine if it is "bad or good" different.  What a shame that we attempt this, as we will miss the beauty in the difference if we are pre-occupied with judging!  The second miracle is that at almost fifty-nine years old, I am filming my first music video in a small western town in the heartland of this great country.  There is water here too!  It is just different, as it is not sea water.  Our Scripture today points out the desperate need for both kinds of water.  I'm not a rock star.  I have not spent several hours doing my makeup and hair.  Rather, along with my ministry partner, we are just being obedient and calling on God to use this heavenly opportunity for His earthly gain.  I feel like the animals that have come to the stream to drink of the fresh morning spring water.  I don't often do this in devotions, but indulge me for just a moment this morning.  Thank you to all that have made this precious moment possible.  You know who you are and you are all part of our Family of God.  While we will be the ones in front of the cameras today, you will all be there.  Without all of you and your precious families, there is no Family of God, no CD, no book, and no music video.  You are everything to us and we love you dearly.  Always remember that when we are fighting the enemy as hard as we do each day, people will try to derail God's effort.  They will make fun of the Family of God and speak all matter of evil against us falsely.  God told us that this would be the case through His Son Jesus Christ.  We will not be swayed!  Weather you are "sailing" the mighty seas today, or drinking from God's fresh-water "springs," we are all one in the Son!  God loves each of us and "We are Building the Family of God!"
