Acts 2: 46-47

Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people,

and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Many years ago when I was a Christian motivational speaker traveling the country talking to families about communication, I found myself on the same stage as the famous motivational speaker and  sales trainer Zig Ziglar. I will forever be grateful to the words that rang in my ears that day when he said "remember, garbage in, garbage out!".  I believe that is what this passage is telling us.  Is it any wonder our society is disfunctional on so many levels?  The news we listen to and watch, the music we listen to every day, the "complain, complain, complain" dialogue we listen to in our conversations leads to "garbage in, garbage out".  Instead, the first local New Testament Church planted by Christ through Peter says to greet, meet, and eat together with glad and sincere hearts each day, both in the temple and in our homes.  I can share testimony with you that as a minister I do this every day and it works.  Notice what they were doing...praising God and enjoying the favor of all people.  Let's set the record straight.  There is no such thing as too much church or too much Jesus.  Maybe the reason most of our local New Testament churches are declining is because we simply don't do what scripture says.  Since most of us are "well-fed" we are doing at least one of the above!  My challenge to you is to try it all, enjoy God's favor through His people, and watch our Family of God grow daily in the temple and in our homes.
