Matthew 10:25-27

Students are to be like their teacher, and slaves are to be like their master.

And since I, the master of the household, have been called the prince of demons,

The members of my household will be called by even worse names!

“But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you.

For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed,

And all that is secret will be made known to all.

What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes.

What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear!

As we conclude our six-part devotion series entitled, "Revealed," we return to the apostle Matthew which is exactly where we started!  Jesus is speaking to the disciples.  He has just told them to stay away from the Gentiles and Samaritans.  Jesus has warned them about the dangers of preaching the Gospel message.  Finally in today's Scripture, He encourages them and tells them exactly what to expect.  Jesus tells the apostles, and all of us, that if we are going to stand for Him, we will be called the same ugly names that were attributed to Jesus.  Who better to tell us to not be afraid of those who threaten us?  Remember the Pharisees, Sanhedrin, Chief Priests, Herod, and Pilate?  Jesus had a "PhD" in being threatened!  What was His response?  In most cases, nothing until God fully revealed to Him what needed to be said.  For all of Jesus's enemies, condemning Jesus was a power struggle.  They could not let the people get "out of control," for fear they would lose their place of status.  We would be wise to remember that all our enemies will become allies.  Yes, I said that out loud and it is true.  Herod and Pilate were from two different governments and really didn't like each other much.  The Bible says that they united against Jesus and became friends.  Mortal enemies will seek each other out and become comrades to attack those of us that chose to stand for Jesus.  This is why Jesus warns the disciples of what to expect.  The last part of today's Scripture tells us that we will never be alone in our fight against Satan.  Jesus is going to whisper in our ears!  We will know all, as God and Jesus reveal it to us.  So, listen to God and don't be afraid, even when it looks as if we are alone.  We are not alone and in Christ, we never will be.  All will soon be revealed.  "The Housetops are Waiting for Our Proclamation!"
