Psalm 18:15-17

Then at your command, O Lord, at the blast of your breath,
The bottom of the sea could be seen, and the foundations of the earth were laid bare.

He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters.
He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me.

In part four of our eighteen-part devotion series entitled, "Water, Water, Everywhere!" we see a graphic picture of the power of God in our lives.  David is celebrating his deliverance by God from his enemies.  The odds against David were formidable.  Here the power of God is exhibited by His power over the water.  When God breathed on the earth, the impact was felt all the way to the bottom of the sea.  Nothing was left to the imagination and all could see the immense power of God.  David was drowning and God knew it.  David exclaims that God had drawn him out of the deep waters and rescued him from his enemies.  David concedes that without God, his enemies were too strong for him.  Have we done that in this world?  Do we proclaim that our enemies are simply too powerful unless God is present?  We should!  I must confess that there are times when what I do for God seems futile.  It is in these times that God reveals His true, ultimate power.  I have seen God "part the seas!"  God has rescued me from my enemies that were far too powerful for me.  We need to admit that we can't defeat Satan by ourselves.  He is simply too strong and crafty.  In order to defeat Satan, Jesus had to call on the Holy Scripture and the name of God.  Why should we be any different?  Today, we must admit that our enemies are strong and will defeat us if we don't call on the name of the Lord.  When we do call on the name of Jesus, "We Will Witness the Bottom of the Sea!"
